Computer vs Books

The question is, what do you do with your computer/laptop? We are in computer age, fine! I believe it should help us learn more, faster than the olden days. But alas! It is taking the minds of most young folks away from learning.

See the views of these great men on books.

Too bad, our young people today don’t read books – they key-punch on computers, thinking that they can derive ‘knowledge’ from databases. Computers may be fast, efficient and convenient but their abuse – like drug addiction – has produced a generation of young persons who are brain-dead. They never learned how to absorb knowledge through reading and reflection. They ‘thought’ with their fingers. They’ve forgotten how to use the most wonderful computer known to man, with no apologies to Bill Gates: the human brain.

Books are great. You can put them in the crib. Kids can take them on a bus or plane. I’m a big fan of all kinds of books, and they will continue to be very important… With the book, you don’t have to have computer switched on, or even have a computer. My kids will have computers, of course, but they will have books first.
